This paper proposed the Lagrangian optimization model for Optimal Power Flow (OPF) problem. It is designed by relaxing the constraints from the Quadratic Programming (QP) problem. The objective of this model is to minimize the total cost of active power generation. The solution of QP is obtained by different optimization techniques like Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method, Genetic Algorithm (GA), Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm. In this paper, the optimum value of QP is obtained by the proposed model and it is compared with other methods PSO, GA, DE. The results of the methods have been tested through the standard IEEE 30 bus system. Based on numerical calculations and graphical representation, the optimal generation cost for OPF can be achieved. Keywords

This paper mainly deals with the analysis of communication network for electricity distribution using Distribution Dispatch Centre (DDC) which is monitored and controlled by Supervising Control And Data Acquisition / Distribution Management System (SCADA / DMS). DDC controls the computer based substation control systems. Access of the control channel can be formulated as a Non-Linear Integer Programming (NLIP) which can be decomposed by Lagrangian Relaxation (LR) technique. The objective of the model is to maximize the inputs of the control parameters for the feeders and to obtain the optimal scheduling decision for each power flow. The optimal scheduling decision is obtained from the Lagrangian dual optimization problem. A duality gap exists between the lower bound and the objective function value provided by the Non-Linear Integer Programming feasibility heuristic. The optimum value is obtained by the scheduling algorithm. Based on numerical calculations and graphical representations, the feeder route losses are minimized with respect to control parameters. Keywords

In this paper, we present a novel multiple watermarking algorithm using Dual Tree Complex Wavelet Transform (DTCWT). CWT has more applicability in image transformation due to its excellence in directionality, oscillations, shift invariance and aliasing. Eigen values of mid frequency band of cover image are modified by Eigen values of dual binary watermarks, which are obtained by Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). Experimental results show that the proposed watermarking algorithm based on CWT is well suited for various gray scale images when compared to conventional DWT.Keywords

Target detection and localization is an active research area due to its importance in a wide range of application such as biomedical and military applications. In this paper, a novel method for the detection and estimation of signal parameters such as range and direction of arrival for multiple far- field target using wideband echo chirp signals is proposed. Sonar and radar are the active detection systems transmit well defined signals into a region of interest. A model preprocessing procedure is designed for the echo signal. The parameters estimation method for multiple targets is developed based on the Linear Canonical transform and the Fast Root MUSIC algorithm which is a high resolution DOA estimation method originally proposed for any arbitrary arrays to reduce the computational complexity in existing systems. The proposed method provides high accuracy of detection and resolution even in very low SNR values. Keywords

The policy of ‘Make in India’ being given the major thrust, the manufacturing has emerged as one of the high growth sectors in India. Of various products of industrial, agricultural and household needs, PVC pipes are of multifarious utility and hence needed in all segments for both water supply and in laying concealed wiring in buildings. Hence, there is a stiff competition among the firms producing PVC pipes in India. However, the success of a firm depends on its financial soundness, particularly the liquidity and profitability levels. Liquidity refers to the ability of a concern to meet its current obligations as and when these become due. The profitability acts as a yardstick to measure the operating efficiency of the enterprise. The present study analyses and compares the liquidity and profitability position of the two leading PVC manufacturing companies listed in both NSE and BSE, namely Astral Poly Technik Ltd and Finolex Industries Ltd. The financial data of the past ten years from 2007-08 to 2016-17 was used. Accounting ratios, Motaal’s comprehensive test of liquidity and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient are the tools used for the analysis. The study indicates that there is a positive correlation between liquidity and profitability in case of Astral Poly Technik Ltd, while a negative correlation in case of Finolex Industries Ltd.

Ecotourism is the rapidly developing proportion of tourism industry with a growing attention on natural environment. It has the potential to attract domestic and international tourists to various tourist destinations. With a focus on environmental protection, the concept of eco-tourism is gaining momentum. The growth in population and increasing movement of people towards tourist destinations to relax themselves necessitates the maintenance of protective environment for healthy tourism. In this regard, the present research aims to measure the tourists’ satisfaction and also problems faced by the tourists towards eco-tourism in Ooty. The study uses primary data collected from 130 conveniently chosen tourists through a structured questionnaire survey. Simple percentage analysis, one-way ANOVA and Z-test are used to know the level of satisfaction towards ecotourism. Henry Garrett Ranking method is applied to rank the problems faced by the tourists towards eco-tourism. The result shows that there is no significant difference in the satisfaction among the respondent groups of socio-economic variables and the major problem of tourists towards eco-tourism at Ooty, Tamil Nadu is overcrowding. The suggestions given to the government and management of tourist destinations will help to keep the nature safe and perform eco-tourism methods in a better way for improvement of tourism at Ooty. Keywords
